This Ajijic Jewel of a home was built only a few years ago and everything is just beautiful inside. Located in one of the most desirable area of Ajijic Mexico – The Las Salvias area – this one story home is walking distance to the village, restaurants, artist studios and grocery stores. Tucked into the hills of Ajijic, The Jewel House sits in a prime location for guests visiting The Lake Chapala area and can be rented weekly or monthly
If you are considering retiring in Ajijic, this home will offer you the true flavor of Mexico. It is an excellent getaway to a warm climate and a chance to experience what Mexico is all about: church bells, fragrant flowers, horses clopping, and gentle breezes. You can easily walk to everything and enjoy: Wednesday Tianguis (street market), our local Pan (bakery), Monday tamale sisters, massages, artist studios and boutiques. We’re a 5 minute walk to the main plaza for some great people watching!
This Ajijic vacation rental has its own private garden, terrazza and fountain with colorful touches catching your eye. You will be tempted to have your morning coffee outside every day and perhaps a sip of tequila or wine in the evening. The covered terrace is perfect year round, and lets you know you are in paradise.
This attractive home, with a large living room and a dramatic high ceiling (cupula) also includes a satellite TV which gets all your favorite stations in the US, Canada and extra movies all day long. A local artist designed the stained glass windows to give you color and beauty – after all you are officially in Mexico!
The master bedroom has hand painted walls, an American queen size bed and spacious built in closets. We have taken the liberty to have all the rustic furniture hand painted by a talented artist. This room is light, airy and has another boveda brick ceiling for your enjoyment.
The second bedroom also has an American queen size bed, high speed internet hook up for your laptop computer and French doors that open to a rear garden. Many of our guests use it as their office during their stay and a great place to tuck their accumulated ‘treasures’ found along the cobblestone streets.
The kitchen is a charming Mexican tiled area with arches and nooks. We have supplied everything we could think of to make your stay an easy cooking experience. Whether you plan to whip up gourmet meals or just morning coffee, you will delight in the easy kitchen arrangement. The Jewel House has a triple filtered water system as well as bottled water. We’ve even filled up the fridge with a few goodies to get you started on living in comfort in Mexico. We have thought of everything!
The 1 1/2 bathrooms will ‘wow’ you with their Mexican tiles, dramatic sinks, hand painted murals and stained glass. The shower has a large built in sitting bench for you to enjoy a hot steamy shower. All of the rooms have ceiling fans to keep you cool all year round. There is a convenient washer/dryer for all of your laundry needs as well as a large storage room for you luggage, sporting goods and any purchases that you would want stored away.
As our guests, you will be treated to a list of our favorite places to see, good restaurants, shortcuts to living in Ajijic, and up to date information on visiting the markets and nearby towns. We are literally 3 minutes to the Pan (baker), the rotisserie ‘chicken’ lady, local grocery shopping, the fish markets and the bus stop to take you into Guadalajara. Walk down our 500 year old cobblestone streets and get caught in the local sights and sounds of the village. Perhaps this is why over 7,000 North Americans call Lake Chapala home!
If you are here for affordable cosmetic surgery, dental work or medical treatments – this home is a perfect place to be peaceful. With everything on one floor, you can be mobile and enjoy the entire house.
We have secure private off street parking for those guests that will want to use a car during their visit. And remember the Sunrise House is right next door for those folks who like to travel with friends and family, but enjoy their privacy and own home.
